About the Artist
Barbara Romano is a North Carolina artist who graduated from Guilford Technical Community College with a degree in Commercial Art. She spent several years participating in archaeological expeditions in Egypt and Turkey, where she was commissioned to illustrate artifacts for the German Archaeological Institute, University of Pennsylvania, Yale University, and Northwestern University.
Barbara draws inspiration from nature and architecture. Her work is characterized by glowing sunsets or moonlit skies, with an emphasis on the way light illuminates trees, ancient structures, or animal fur.
Her interests include llama cart driving, and apparel made from her own llama fiber.
She lives on a small farm with her husband Pete, 7 llamas, 2 horses, 3 peacocks, and other pets. Their son Peter Grant Romano attends college and manages this website, which will be continually updated as new paintings are completed and prints become available.
